Ander Herrera will face no repercussions for a spitting incident during the Manchester Derby. Ander was seeing spitting at the ground during halftime as the teams walked back into the tunnel. Many took this as a sign of disrespect as the area where he happened to spit was painted with a large City emblem is painted.
A club spoke person has said, “Ander has seen the footage of the incident and is mortified at any suggestion that his actions were deliberate. It was entirely accidental and there was no intent whatsoever”
On his Instagram story Ander stated, “I will always fight for my club’s badge, but I always respect every other club crest too 🔴🔴🔴”
The ones facing a fine after the match are Manchester City. It is being reported that the FA will fine them £25,000 for receiving 6 yellow cards in the course of the match.
