The period following the sending off has seen United shut down shop and attempt to neutralize Arsenal as they send waves of men forward.  The United defense has been proficient and has cut off passing lanes and held Arsenal to half chances.

A red card here means Pogba will miss the Manchester Derby next week.

Jesse Lingard begins a run at midfield and picks out Pogba who is striding alongside him.  Pogba makes his run into the box, using his strength to hold the defender off.  He plays the ball across the face of goal and finds Lingard, who had continued his run, with an open goal.  Lingard slots the chance home to give Manchester United a 3-1 lead in the 62nd minute!

Marcos Rojo is put into the referee’s book for a cynical foul on Alexis Sanchez on the side of the penalty area.  Ozil steps to play the free kick in, but the ball is cleared as Matic and Koscielny have a clash of head.  Matic remains down for a spell, but returns to his feet after a visit from the physio.
